THE TECHNOLOGY
Impulse compaction has one name: TERRA-MIX. As experts in dynamic deep compaction we use the most modern methods of impulse compaction. The technologies and techniques, which we have developped around this method, we have perfectioned over years in meticulous work. It´s origin the impulse compaction had in the early 1980´s as military developments for the Ministry of Defence in Great Britain. Early prototypes were used to make runways ready for air operation in the shortest time possible.

From the vision to the state-of-the-art technology
Only years later the impulse compactor came on the civilian market and was for the time being used in North America. We at TERRA-MIX reckognised the enormous potential of this method for ground stabilisation and 2007 put the first machine for impulse compaction into operation in Austria. In co-operation with the office GEOTECHNIK ADAM ZT GmbH we developed a GPS-based control system. Thus for the first time each compaction point could be stored and documented; quality control was made possible.

FOUNDATION
2008 we managed to work out an exclusive contract with the manufacturer of the impulse-compactor-head for almost all of continental Europe.
In the following years up to 2010 we realised together with the University of Innsbruck(Field of applied mechanics) and the office GEOTECHNIK ADAM ZT GmbH a from the FFG(Austrian Research Promotion Society) promoted researchproject.
The results of this project forms the scientific basis of the modern impulse compaction. (ADAM et al, 2011)
Since 2011 we make use of impulse compaction all over Austria and in building projects all over the world. Since then we brought more then 260 impulse compaction projects in 13 countries to a succesfull end. 750 roads were renovated.
